LA Inner City

In the 1980s and 1990s, inner-city Los Angeles was ravaged by gang wars involving drive-by shootings and battles over turf. The 1992 acquittal of four white police officers in the videotaped beating of a black man, Rodney King, set off days of riots. In a second trial, two of the officers were acquitted and two of them (Stacey Koon and Laurence Powell) were sentenced to 30 months in prison.
